Exact zones use a smooth L* bell mask. For Contrast, Brighten or Darken, first select Sh / Mi / Hi, then use ‹ / › to reduce or increase that adjustment in the selected tonal range. The selected Sh / Mi / Hi button stays colour-coded as a reminder of the range you are editing. Contrast can move from −60 to +60; Brighten and Darken move from 0 to +60. When a luminosity zone is selected, all three rows refine that same zone, including softness, intersection, inversion and painted mask refinements.
GLOBAL CURVE STRENGTH
Broad Master + channel curve strength. Exported curve points follow this setting.

0% • Neutral100% • Original200% • Stronger
MICRO GLOBAL CURVE STRENGTH
Gently reinforces the current curve effect only in fine and medium local tonal detail.
0
0 • Off50 • Fine100 • Strong
Raster finishing control: smooth luminance-only reinforcement, no sharpening and no colour speckling.
LIGHTNESS
Adjust perceived lightness in L* while preserving colour as closely as the RGB gamut allows.
0
−100 • Darker0 • Neutral+100 • Brighter
MICRO LIGHTNESS
Very gentle local L* lift or reduction in fine/medium-detail regions, with smooth activity and highlight/shadow feathering.

−100 • Darker detail0 • Neutral+100 • Brighter detail
CONTRAST
Camera Raw Basic-panel Contrast2012. Negative softens global tonal separation; positive increases contrast while protecting the endpoints.
0
−100 • Less contrast0 • Neutral+100 • More contrast
SHADOW WARNING
Show values below the print-safe 003 level in solid blue. Diagnostic only — the blue overlay is never exported.
HIGHLIGHT WARNING
Show values above the print-safe 253 level in solid red. Diagnostic only — the red overlay is never exported.
HALO WARNING
Flag probable edge ringing or B&W chromatic-fringe halos in violet. Diagnostic only — never exported.
HALO RECOVERY
Blend detected halo lines back into their neighbouring edge tones. Best used with Halo Warning (Beta) turned ON.
0
0 • Off50 • Medium clean-up100 • Strong blend
Targets probable oversharpening / aberration halos only. Preserve subtle edge definition where possible.
HIGHLIGHTS
Camera Raw Basic-panel Highlights2012. Negative recovers / darkens highlights; positive opens and brightens the highlight range.
0
−100 • Recover0 • Neutral+100 • Brighten
Maps directly to imported / exported Highlights2012 values. Clipped-flat source detail cannot be recreated.
MACRO HIGHLIGHT RECOVERY
Broader, softer highlight compression beginning lower in the highlight range.
0
0 • Off50 • Medium100 • Strong
Uses a smooth broad shoulder to avoid abrupt transitions in white fabric, clouds and skin highlights.
SHADOWS
Camera Raw Basic-panel Shadows2012. Negative deepens shadows; positive opens shadow detail while protecting brighter tones.
0
−100 • Deepen0 • Neutral+100 • Open
Maps directly to imported / exported Shadows2012 values. Already clipped-flat detail cannot be recreated.
MICRO SHADOW RECOVERY
Gently opens fine local shadow detail with a softly feathered luminance mask.
0
0 • Off50 • Medium100 • Strong
Raster-only finishing control; no sharpening and no hard-edged shadow mask.
WHITES
Move the upper white point without a full global exposure shift.
0
-100 • Compress0 • Neutral+100 • Expand
Positive values push bright tones upward; negative values soften the white point.
BLACKS
Lift or deepen the lower black point without changing the whole curve.
0
-100 • Deepen0 • Neutral+100 • Lift
Positive values raise dark tones; negative values set a deeper black point.
